The morning is the most important time of your day. Research shows that people who have a structured morning routines are more likely to be successful than those who don’t. More people are starting to work from home at least some of the time if their job allows. This means many people are finding themselves with a little extra time in the morning. The question is what people who work from home do to make the best of the extra time in the morning?

Exercise

The first piece of advice for anyone who works from home is to something that will benefit you in one way or another. Whether it’s physical or mental (or both), do something that will help you maintain a healthy body and mind.

Physical exercise of some kind is so important to health and wellbeing. Including something that will raise your heart rate for at least 20 minutes will work wonders. It is common knowledge that exercise releases endorphins to make you feel good. It can also help with mental clarity so you may be more on the ball at work too. If you can get out of the house to exercise then there are a number of online resources for all sorts of home workouts. Try something like yoga, pilates or even High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT). There are also so many great options for those of us that are less mobile too. You can find some great workout ideas here.

If you are more spiritual, or you want to try meditation, then it is highly recommended that you make the time to start the day peacefully. Mediation can be a great way to manage your general wellbeing. It is known to relieve stress and anxiety and we could all do with less of those states of existence. If mediation isn’t your thing you can get the same benefits by listening to calming music. You may even want to try some basic breathing exercises as there are many benefits to controlled breathing.
